I spotted this bird with a hen from a distance floating along out in a bay one afternoon

Featuring black bears

my first being when I was in 4th grade

When I started this painting I used a mixture of indian yellow along with paint thinner and I used a lot of paint thinner to wash over the board and then wiped it dry with a shop rag and that gave me that nice golden tone which I used to my advantage

Survival dictates the direction of almost everything this time of year for these hearty animals. What fascinates me the most is the way they interact with each other along this adventure and how that differs from region to region. In this scene I imagine a bull elk stepping out into the wide open while letting out
