After 55 years, the estate came to be owned by the Knights of Malta, who held it until 1789. More recently Chteau Peyrassol was purchased by Philippe Austruy, who replanted the vineyards. Today the domaine is 850 hectares in size, of which 92 hectares are planted to vine. Winemaking is overseen by Pierre Gurin and Stphane Derenoncourt.
